What Is the Textile Industry?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The textile industry, sometimes known as the rag trade, is associated with the design and production of cloth goods. It also involves importing and exporting natural and man-made fabrics. Spinning and dying yarn, cotton, or other fibers is also a part of this global industry. This industry is found throughout the world, and the type of fabric and goods varying widely from one region to the next.A major part of the textile industry involves clothing. Many people are employed designing new fashions and marketing them for production. Others are involved in overseeing the manufacturing of certain fashions. This includes teaching people to sew garments and inspecting them for defects in workmanship.Other textile companies produce household linens such as sheets, blankets, pillowcases, and towels. These items might be manufactured by sewing fabric or weaving fibers together. Some products require the use of a pattern, while others are assembled freestyle. This varies depending upon the item being made and type of material used. The method of making items varies from one region to the next. In some cases, fabric may be cut and sewn by hand with a needle and thread. Other times, textiles are produced on a sewing machine. Large manufacturing facilities often generate cloth goods on computerized equipment specifically designed for making a particular item. Some segments of the textile industry deal with importing and exporting fabrics. Clothing designers and manufacturers often have buyers who travel the world looking for the right cloth to create their fashions. This is because the type of material that is locally produced varies greatly from one country to the next. The methods of weaving fibers together to make cloth also varies, so manufacturers may prefer one technique over the other, depending on the garment they are producing. Both dying and stamping fabric with designs are also a part of the textile industry. In some cases, items can be manually submersed into large vats full of liquid dye, and then hung up to dry. Other times, equipment that resembles a washing machine might be used to color several garments simultaneously. Designs can be printed or stamped by hand or via a computerized machine. People in many countries rely on workers in the textile industry to supply them with cloth goods. Without individuals to make clothing and household items, most families would be unable to produce them on their own. The textile business supplies these goods while providing a valuable source of income for many people throughout the world.

What Is the Zone of Proximal Development?

What Is the Zone of Proximal Development?
http://www.pagepersonnel.com.hk

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The zone of proximal development is a key part of an educational theory that emphasizes the process of childhood learning through the guidance of a teacher or other capable adult. This theory breaks down all knowledge into three simple areas: the information that a student knows and things he or she can already do alone, tasks and information that are well beyond the scope of what the student can do, and those things a student could do or learn with the assistance of a teacher. The zone of proximal development is this third area, which consists of the information and tasks a student can achieve with help from a teacher or knowledgeable adult. As an educational concept, the zone of proximal development was conceived and championed initially by a Russian psychologist named Lev Vygotsky. He developed this concept in an effort to decrease focus on standardized, goal-oriented testing in favor of testing that focuses on problem solving involving problems the student can complete alone and some that require help from a teacher. The zone of proximal development can effectively be used in a number of different teaching styles and pedagogies. It typically relies on a teacher as a facilitator of learning, who works with a student to develop understanding of increasingly complex tasks. A simple example of the zone of proximal development in relation to how children learn would be the kind of math problem a child could solve at a certain level. If a student understood basic mathematical functions, such as addition and multiplication, then he or she should be able to solve a simple problem using these functions without assistance from a teacher. Within the zone of proximal development could be problems that involve these functions in multiple steps or a simple problem that replaces numbers with variables. Beyond this zone, however, would be complex problems that use trigonometry and different mathematical concepts the student has not begun to learn. The zone of proximal development can be used by teachers to better understand how to challenge students and to know what kinds of help to provide. Once a student solves enough problems with help from a teacher, those kinds of problems should move into the realm of tasks the student can complete without help. At this point, the zone of proximal development moves outward and some of the tasks or information that were previously unreachable become within the student’s reach with the help of a teacher. This process of building learning for a student by taking away support for problems as they become easier, and providing new support for harder problems, is commonly known as “scaffolding.”

What Is Tuition Reimbursement?

What Is Tuition Reimbursement?
http://www.pagepersonnel.com.hk

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuition usually refers to educational costs. The term can be used when referring to the cost of a single course or a full track of study. Tuition reimbursement is a process that normally involves a student paying for educational costs and being repaid by another entity at a later date.Tuition reimbursement is a type of educational financial aid. It is designed to alleviate the costs that a student has to pay. This type of arrangement generally involves higher learning. Unlike other forms of educational financial aid, tuition reimbursement requires the student to initially pay her own educational costs. In some cases, she may not have to literally pay. She may just have to agree to be responsible to pay. There are educational facilities that will defer the payment when tuition reimbursement arrangements are involved. However, in the event that the monies are not provided from the expected source, the responsibility usually falls upon the student. There are often conditions attached to tuition reimbursement. These vary depending on the source that is expected to reimburse a student. One common source is an employer. In an effort to encourage higher education and to attract quality workers, some employers offer to pay for their staffs¡¯ education. A condition that many employers attach to this benefit is that the course of study must relate to the company. This means that if a bank teller wants to study using a tuition reimbursement program, she will likely have to choose a major that involves the financial industry. Companies generally do this because they hope to receive a return on the investment. If they allowed their workers to study unrelated courses at their expense, it could be viewed as a potential loss because those workers would have to seek other companies to utilize those skills. Other sources of tuition reimbursement are government programs and private donors. These entities are often liberal with regards to what a person studies. They tend to have a condition that is often shared by employers though. Most tuition reimbursement is dependent on a person maintaining a certain academic standard. If she does not, she may not be reimbursed for courses that do not meet the standard. In some instances, when students do not maintain the required average, they become ineligible for any further benefits. When a person is reimbursed depends on the entity providing the funds. Some may issue the funds as soon as enrollment can be verified. Some, however, do not issue the funds until satisfactory completion of the course can be verified.
