During the fourth round of the campaign for a Beijing 2008 Olympic theme song, more than 420 musical scores and 4,800 lyrics have been composed, organizers of Beijing Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) said.
Most of the works come from professional musicians and according to BOCOG the quality is "quite high". BOCOG said earlier that the deadline to submit candidate songs was March 10, 2008. The worldwide solicitation, which was launched on Jan. 21, also targets a theme song for the 2008 Paralympic Games as well as theme songs for the torch relay and awarding ceremonies.
